Jasmine is now 24 weeks old !!! Today !!! Wow !!!
So far, her milestones this month are:
Jasmine is slowly learning how to crawl; she wiggles, flops, and move backward and forward. She is in motion and inching forward, creeping along on her tummy and advancing by stretching, kicking, and pushing off with her arms. If we had carpet, she would be crawling for sure.
Jasmine's health !!!
Jasmine's six-month checkup is coming up on November 21, which means more vaccines (polio, DTP, hepatitis B) and measurements (height, weight, head circumference) to chart her growth. Last time she was 16 pounds and 29 inches long. I need to ask the pediatrician about how to get her sleeping the night again.
Jasmine's development !!!
Jasmine's moods change and pass quickly. If she's upset, she can be distracted by a change of scenery or a toy. She sits up with ease, and she is able to stand and bear some weight on her legs when supported under the arms. She even supports herself when you let her hold on to you. She is very very strong.
We give Jasmine plenty of opportunity to develop her motor skills. We change her position often so she can practice building her strength and coordination.
We give her different objects to manipulate, from plastic toy keychains to baby spoons.
I let her hold, squeeze and roll objects of diffrent shapes, sizes, and textures.
We prop her up with pillows so she can sit upright, but lately she's been doing it without the help of pillows.
She likes it when I bounce her up and down, she loves her walker, but cries when she gets stuck in a particular area. Soon she'll be able to get herself out of those spots.
She loves her toys and her gadgets. We move her from the crib to the floor, so she can stretch, roll, and kick, from there to the swing, then to the bouncer, then to the walker, then to the playpen, then back to the crib. Too beautiful for words. She keeps us busy.
She loves the spanish speaking frog that daddy got her. Also, whenever we put her in the crib, she remembers there was this turtle aquarium attached to the side rail that she just adores. She can entertain herself up to ten minues with it, which is a lot for her.
Yesterday, I sat her on my lap when I was getting ready to eat lunch because she was fussing. When I got ready to put a bite in my mouth, she opened her mouth because she thought it was for her. It was sooo adorable. Daddy immediately got up and got her Sweet Potatoes baby food. She only had a couple of bites. I guess she wanted grown up food. She can't wait to grow up.
I can !
7. Start playing finger games with her, such as the Itsy Bitsy Spider and Pat-a-Cake.
